History

1951 | Our Beginnings

We originated as a small workshop under the Strakonice Forestry Enterprise. Over time, we evolved into Development Centre 73 (Forestry Equipment Plant – ZLT) within the South Bohemian State Forests.
1981–1984 | Growth and Investment

Under the leadership of Václav Říha Sr. (*1941 †2011), we built industrial production halls equipped with gantry cranes, alongside new administrative facilities. Outfitted with state-of-the-art machinery from the world-renowned ČZM Strakonice, we provided comprehensive servicing for forestry plants across the entire region.
1992 | Privatisation and International Markets

As the market shifted, the company transformed into “Strojírna Sedlice a.s.” and opened itself to new opportunities. Fully leveraging our know-how and building upon decades of tradition, we began exporting our products worldwide.
2004 | Our Current Name

Focusing primarily on international markets, we began operating under our current name: Sedlická strojírna.
2017 | A Stable Family Business
After 25 years, the privatisation process was completed, and Ing. Václav Říha became the sole owner. Today, we continue our journey as a stable, Czech family-owned business – Sedlická strojírna s.r.o.
Present Day
We have built more than 60 woodworking plants, waste processing facilities, and hundreds of conveyor and transport systems. We are not a rigid corporation – which allows us to respond quickly and flexibly to our clients’ needs. Today, our machinery operates reliably all across Europe, and even in more exotic destinations like Costa Rica.
Future
We do not look only to the past, we regularly invest in modernising and expanding our manufacturing capacities to keep pace with the latest technological trends.
